Special Projects

In our Special Projects Division, The Righter Company has completed major new building projects. We remodel and renovate existing structures, working for clients such as the City of Columbus, Aqua Ohio, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, The Ohio State University, and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. We also do all types of water and wastewater treatment projects including pump stations, utilities and new plant and renovation of existing facilities. Our labor force is experienced with difficult renovation projects. Therefore, we can often complete these projects less expensively than our competitors. We can manage projects with complicated schedules, hundreds of submittals and extensive paperwork
The Righter Company has helped manufacturing and industrial clients complete their modifications and renovations quickly. Because we have our own labor force, we control the project quality and schedule better than a construction manager or a general contractor that “subs out” most of the work. We provide civil and structural engineering input to save time and costs for our clients. Our factory/industrial work includes both building projects and civil projects.

We have completed many communications towers in Ohio and the surrounding states. Our past projects include monopoles, self-supported towers, co-locates and roof-top installations.
Our projects have typically been throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia. We excel at sites that are complicated and challenging. We will continue to offer our expert services throughout Ohio and the surrounding states. We own most of our equipment, which allows us to mobilize onsite quickly, as well as save time and money for our clients.

The ST8 storm water pump station is owned by ODOT and maintained by the City of Columbus. The work is being done in phases and includes the removal and reconstruction of five pumps and replacement of electrical switch gear. In order to maintain pumping capacity we had to install temporary pumping and piping while pumps were being rebuilt. The picture shows the temporary piping that was installed in the wetwell.

This City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities project consisted of the removal and replacement of 42″ concrete pipe with new 42″ HOBAS pipe. In order to accomplish the work, Righter performed clearing, installed an access road, manhole installation, by-pass pumping, and concrete pier repair.

Sometimes all the work is below ground and not seen by the general public. As part of a larger General Construction Contract for the City of Columbus Division of Sewerage and Drainage, The Righter Company went underground to install flap gates in various manholes in the city to prevent sewer backflows to may damage resident’s homes.

This project is for the Franklin County Sanitary Engineers and is the construction of a new pump station and force main. The existing Century Acres WWTP is outdated and instead of constructing a new one, they are pumping sewage down the road and tying in to another structure. The work includes constructing a new pump station with a wet well and valve vault, 12,900 LF of 6” HDPE force main, 10 air release manholes, and a generator. Once the new pump station is running, we will decommission and remove the existing Century Acres WWTP.

The Village of Stockport, Ohio was in great need of a new water treatment facility. After a rebid due to budget constraints, they contracted with The Righter Company to construct their new facility. Righter completed the new plant while keeping the old one in service until the successful switch-over.

This project, with repeat client, Aqua Ohio, consisted of new aeration equipment in the tanks. It included removal of the existing aeration equipment, concrete weir wall, new aeration blower, and aeration equipment in all tanks.
