5th & Forsythe Shoring

A mixed-use development that includes a 5-story building housing offices, retail spaces, and apartments, this project required a shoring system to maintain the utilities, pedestrian, and vehicular access to 5th Avenue and Forsythe Avenue near the OSU campus district.  Righter designed and installed a 476 LF engineered soldier beam and lagging earth retention system with heights up to 15’.

AIDA Equipment Foundation Shoring

One of our many shoring projects in an industrial setting, this interior soldier piling and lagging with tiebacks project was at AIDA America Corporation for the Toshiba Equipment Foundation.  This project also required traditional concrete underpinning.

Worthington Industries Headquarters Addition Shoring

An earth retention system was needed due to adjacent structures and utilities to construct a new fitness center at Worthington Industries.  The building contractor engaged Righter to design and construct this system in tight constraints and with shale bedrock below the excavation.  A drilled-pile system was used and the addition was successfully completed.

F&P Americe Shoring

F&P America need to install a new high bay and press pits while temporarily shoring their existing building in Troy, Ohio.  The general contractor knew to call on us to design and build a shoring system for this project from past experience.  There were some unforeseen subsurface conditions that required changing our design-which was no problem due to our in-house engineering expertise!

Campus Electric Capacity Phase 2 (New Substation)

Ohio State needed to increase its electric capacity by this project – Campus Electric Capacity Phase 2 (New Substation).  The general contractor engaged our services to shore up and protect the existing AEP control building that had to remain in service.  Righter designed and built a soldier pile/lagging wall with tiebacks for the 18 foot deep excavation to protect the existing building and ensure that it stayed in service.

Camp Chase Trail Retaining Wall

As part of a new section on the Camp Chase Trail, several retaining walls were needed on this important project for the Franklin County Metro Parks system.  Righter constructed this solder pile wall with architectural precast concrete panels that blend in a visually pleasing way into this park setting.
