This year, on November 28, many Americans will gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. What does Thanksgiving mean to YOU? Does it mean eating your favorite pie? Driving to another state? Visiting a loved one who has passed at the cemetery? Watching a football game? Does it mean being thankful for your health? Thankful for another year of life?
How do we make Thanksgiving meaningful? There is nothing wrong with enjoying good food, family reunions and football games but, in the busyness of life, we often take for granted our innumerable blessings and tend to overlook them. How grateful are you to have a roof over your head, clothes on your back and an overflow of food in your kitchen? Are you thankful for your income, your spouse, your kids? Are you thankful for the Veterans who proudly serve in our armed forces and are oftentimes away from their families?
Before we head out to the Black Friday sales, let’s take a moment to just…be…thankful.
