Righter Celebrates the Upcoming Holidays and a Retirement! A Video Tribute, too!

On Friday, December 8, 2017, employees of The Righter Company, and some of their family members and guests, joined together in the shop area for Der Dutchman food (and pies!!!), fellowship, games and service awards.  This year, we also celebrated the upcoming retirement of one of our longtime employees, Richard Fink.  His total time of service to the company is just over 30 years.  Richard has worked as a Carpenter, Foreman and, in recent years, as a Field Supervisor.  His last project with Righter was Kingston Water System Improvements, which consisted of installing replacement chemical feed equipment, minor piping/metering improvements/electrical and control improvements and installation of standby power facilities at the existing village WTP and wellfield.

We wish Richard much relaxation and happiness in the years to come!

Watch the video tribute to our hard-working field employees!

Time change this weekend: Get ready to ‘fall back’ 1 hour as Daylight Saving Time ends

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 5.  The switch signals the start of dark afternoons.

Most computers and cell phones now change automatically, but you will still need to adjust your watch, microwave and most likely your car.  It is also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Daylight Saving Time has been practiced off and on in the United States since 1918.  Daylight Saving Time starts the 2nd Sunday of March and ends the first Sunday of November.  Hawaii and Arizona do not observe Daylight Saving Time so no springing forward or falling back for them!  U.S. territories such as American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands do not make the change, either.

We will move the clocks again on March 11, 2018, springing forward an hour.

Our Buckeye Tree

So often throughout the year, but especially during the Buckeye football season, our thoughts turn to David Righter, who, along with his late father, Donald, founded The Righter Company on August 19, 1976.  Dave was a Buckeye fan through and through.  This Buckeye tree stands at the entrance to our home office and was planted to honor the life of and contributions and sacrifices made by Dave.
