Righter to Restore Two Historic Covered Bridges in Wyandot County

The Righter Company is very excited about rehabilitating two historic covered bridges in Wyandot County.  The Swartz Covered Bridge was built in 1878, rehabilitated in 1998, and is a 98′ Howe Truss design. The Parker Covered Bridge was built in 1873, caught fire on May 17, 1991, was restored in 1993, and is a 162′ Howe Truss design.  Both bridges are over the Sandusky River and are posted to the National Register of Historic Places.  Mobilization has begun and the work is scheduled through the end of this year.  Upon completion, this will be the 56th and 57th covered bridge rehabilitation/repair by Righter!

Righter Field at Milford Center

The Righter Company purchased the right to name Field A at the Milford Center facility through the Fairbanks Summer Ball Association.  The association participates in the Midwest Buckeye League along with the Plain City, West Jefferson and London communities.  The funds from Righter were used to keep the expenses low for the families so more kids can participate in summer ball.  This was also done in memory of Tracy’s mom, Pamela Meihls, who fought a long, courageous battle with cancer.  Pictured with the banner are two nephews and a niece of Tracy Ferguson, Righter’s Controller.

Righter Contributes to New Community Play Place

Righter recently contributed time, equipment, labor and financial resources to assist Columbus Preparatory Academy (CPA), a Westside charter school, in its quest to build a neighborhood playground.  Last November, the school was awarded a challenge grant in the amount of $15,000. The grant had two conditions – the school would need to raise $9,000 in matching funds and the actual playground would need to be built by the community.  On Saturday, May 20, otherwise known as ‘Build Day,’ ground was leveled and the new playground equipment was assembled and installed.

Righter is proud to partner with UPS, The Hollywood Casino, Big Lots and many others in helping CPA make the playground a reality.  Students of CPA asked that the playground be dedicated to missing children — “All Missing Children Come Home and Play.”  As a contributor, a stone recognizing Righter has been placed on the playground.
